AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SERVICING
Automatic transmissions need flushing & servicing
every 40,000kms. Most automatic transmissions fail due to internally overheating.
This is usually a direct result of poor maintenance. This service involves
connecting the transmission flushing machine to the automatic transmission
lines in your vehicle & flushing system with new transmission oil. This
process cleans the transmission filters & galleries in the valve body.
This service will help extending the life of your transmission & in
most cases providing smoother gear changes. We only use Premium high grade
fully synthetic transmission fluid. Approx. cost $280 +GST.
AIR CONDITIONING
Your air conditioning system needs servicing approx.
every 2 years (most air conditioning systems lose approx. 10-15% per year
of refrigerant gas). This service involves discharging, recharging &
lubricating your refrigerant system. Also testing your air conditioning
compressor oil if applicable & changing if necessary. Approx. cost $165+GST.
BRAKES & CLUTCHES
BRAKES – This service involves
removing all 4 wheels & brake drums if fitted. Inspecting, cleaning
& adjusting brake shoes, disc pads & brake calipers & replacing
if necessary (with customers authority). Testing brake fluid & if failing
flushing & bleeding brakes (brake fluid is hygroscopic) which means
brake fluid absorbs moisture out of the atmosphere which can effect the
internal workings because of moisture in your brake system which can cause
corrosion.
CLUTCHES – This service involves checking the free
play (adjustment) in the clutch cable & adjusting if necessary, checking
the clutch fluid (hydraulic system) & road testing vehicle.
CAMBELT/TIMING BELT
A cambelt/timing belt is situated in the front or
side of your engine behind the plastic cambelt covers. This belt has been
designed to reduce friction & generate more horse power than previous
component called the Timing Chain. This belt should be changed every 100,000kms
or 5 years, whatever comes first. In some engines there are 2 belts, a cambelt/timing
belt or a balance belt. Approx cost $400+GST.
COOLING SYSTEM SERVICE
Your cooling system needs servicing every 20,000kms
or 2 years. This service involves pressure testing your cooling system for
leaks, flushing the fluid out of your radiator & cooling system &
topping up with fresh coolant/antifreeze. Coolant/Antifreeze does more than
stopping water in your cooling system from freezing. It also stops internal
corrosion of your engine & cooling system components. It also lubricates
the seals in your water pump & lowers the boiling point of the fluid.
Approx cost $100+GST.
EXHAUSTS
This involves testing & checking for any exhaust
(carbon dioxide) gas leaks & repairing & welding when applicable.
When necessary locating, supplying & fitting exhaust components (mufflers,
tail pipes etc).

MECHANICAL WARRANTIES
We are an approved warranty seller & repairer
for mechanical protection insurance. Prices ranging from 12 months $490
– 3 years $690 + $59 per month.
PRE-PURCHASE INSPECTIONS
We have qualified technicians & the latest technical
equipment to carry out any pre-purchase inspection on any vehicle make &
model. This makes sure that you are not buying somebody else’s problem.
Prices range from $70+GST (Petrol Vehicles) up to $200+GST (Diesel Vehicles).
This includes engine compression testing.
TUNE UPS
Tune Ups need to be done every 20,000kms (Platinum
Spark Plugs exempt). This involves removing spark plugs & testing, carrying
out engine compression testing, replacing or cleaning spark plugs where
necessary, checking distributor caps & rotors & High Tension (spark
plugs) leads. This also includes checking, cleaning & replacing air
filter & fuel filter as necessary & carrying out computer scan &
adding fuel systems cleaner to fuel tank. Approx cost from $80 + parts needed.
WARRANT OF FITNESSES
We are an authorised Land Transport warrant of fitness
testing station & can do all mechanical repairs necessary to comply
with Land Transport NZ safety standards.
TYRES
We are an authorised GT Radial agent carrying a good
range of all popular sizes of tyres. We can also access all brands &
sizes when needed. We have the latest wheel alignment machine in most of
our service centres or have a specialist near by who can carry out this
service.
BATTERIES
We are an authorised Century Battery stockist &
have battery trained technicians to help in deciding which the best battery
for your vehicle is. We currently have the latest digital battery tester
which tests & prints out how much life is left in the battery.
LOAN CARS
We have loan cars for customers who need alternative
transport during their day or overnight whilst their car is being repaired.
ENGINE/GEARBOX RECONDITIONING
This procedure involves removing engine or gearbox
from vehicle. Dismantling appropriate parts from engine/gearbox & delivering
to appropriate specialist. When reconditioning is complete, organizing the
uplift of engine/gearbox, reassembling in our workshop & fitting back
to vehicle, then replacing lubricants & road testing vehicle.
ENGINE MANAGMENT & DIAGNOSTIC SERVICES
We have highly trained technicians to carry out all
engine management diagnostic services. The computer technical equipment
our workshops carry can locate all engine light fault codes & repair
as necessary. Approx cost $50+GST (computer scan fee).
